A jumbled morning cavalcade of thoughts...

I agree and disagree with several points made. Icon has some very strong arguments, and quite frankly in the past year I thought I comprehended Bush's motives pretty well, but I seemed to have lost track somewhere. This time last year he was rallying our nation to become whole and the world to take a closer look at itself. In some ways he succeeded, but then again, I do believe that you're right about them making a very big deal of our being the "aggrieved" party. Similarly, I know several people who don't always believe that Americans are the good guys, perhaps too that I've heard so many opinions about our Vietnam scene that it's hard to tell what many people think. With the anniversary of 9-11 fast approaching, that little ball of fear that something might still happen tightens in my stomach just a little...I also believe that it would definately not be in our best interest to start a war with anyone right now (or ever really, call me ever neutral! What can't be settled with a good game of chess shouldn't be fought over, IMHO ^_^;) After looking at afew video tapes on CNN of the testing of toxic gases on a puppy, I was left a little uneasy to say the least. :( On Dark Star's note, I have heard many opionions as to the oil fields as well, and although I do believe that possession of these may be an interior motive, Hussien should have let the UN inspect inside Iraq without question. Even though it is true that war does help the economy, it definately isn't the answer, especially with so many other foregin affairs still hanging in the air. I think Bush knows that...or at least I hope he does.
