(Note: I nearly wrote "women" in the subject line, but I decided that "women" connotes a certain amount of maturity. I don't think this female satisfies that prerequisite.)

Well for one thing, I can't help but notice a little division in the "things Gok did for her" list. #s 1-5 are not really expressions of love, or at least not mature love. Love desires personal growth in the other person. These actions allow the other person to slide, to have it easy for now. She's probably now ill prepared for "the rest of her life" (unless she can con the new guy into doing the same things, but that can't go on forever, and eventually the whole house of cards come crashing down). The last five, however, do qualify as "acts of love".

The words of James 1:2-4 kinda help me when I face similar situations:

"Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything."

I don't know if that gives you any comfort, considering your differing beliefs, but I thought I should offer it just in case.

There are good women out there, the type that are as capable of sacrificial love as you are. I've met a few, though unfortunately (for me, certainly not for them), most of them are already in committed, loving, mutually beneficial marriages. Heh. At my age, most of the good ones are taken...permanently. :-/
