It's not possible for Hasbro to hide the information about the 2002 line forever, nor is it their best interests to do so. Eventually, they have to let retailers and investors know what they are up to.

This follows the pattern of past years. There's a lot of speculation among fans starting about November or December. Some of it is legit (looking at it from hindsight), and some of it is false rumor. Then finally Hasbro makes their official press release shortly before Toy Fair regarding their upcoming toys in the coming year. A few days afterward, Toy Fair begins and we see the actual toys.

The press release is an excerpt from one of Hasbro's official pre-Toy Fair press releases. That small section is the only one talking about Transformers. We have reached the point when we can expect to be getting official, legitimate information from Hasbro. Only those ignorant of how Hasbro works, and especially how they behave a few days before Toy Fair, would not see this as legit.
