Subject: What drives civilizations to grow, thrive and then fall? How does this apply to the US and the Middle East?

Hi everyone,

A participant at another board (brand X) asked me great question. I'll repost it here because I think it is a great part of the discussion as to why the Western and Middle Eastern cultures are colliding.

Here's another question for you. Why do you think these countries stopped contributing so much to the growth of the human species? Look at Greece, Rome, the ME and other areas who made great contirbutions, even lead the charge, to the development of civilization, and now seem to not do anything of any significance. I don't get it.

To be honest, I really have no idea of why cultures begin, grow, thrive, and then fall. We have the Egypt, Greece, Rome, France, Britain, and others. It seems they all follow a pattern, but what causes it is a mystery to me. I'm hoping someone else can add something.

Richard
