Unfortunately, I haven't been able to locate comprehensive median real wage states online. I've seen them in a book, though. I might need to find them and type them up. Surely the labor department or the census bureau keeps such stats, but I haven't been able to unearth them at their web pages.

On the inflation issue, I didn't mean to imply that we don't use inflation-adjusted numbers. I'm all for that. If we didn't, we'd have late-70s GDP growth looking tremendous! I just meant that if we examine inflation as a problem unto itself, I think it is only such a problem when it is hyperinflation (over 5%, at the minimum).
