The Bible, like any religious text, has a long, long history of being reinterpreted and applied to new political purposes. Once it was used as a pro-slavery document, by those who wanted to argue against the abolitionists. If now it will be used by black radicals, there seems to be a certain ironic symmetry in that. Maybe, eventually, the world will wake up and cast down the religious impulse, addressing politics with Reason rather than scripture.
