Subject: The Takara Factor

Remember when Hasbro packaged Transformers with the slogan, "We Really Do Care!"? Well, I've found in reality that Takara is far more deserving of this line than Hasbro.

Trying to deal with Hasbro for the past few years regarding the convention project was at best, frustrating. In my experience, Hasbro has never replied to any of my Emails - even when they asked me to Email them (e.g.: with a copy of the comic script for approval - I never got a written reply for that). On the issure regarding the upcoming exclusive comic, I started calling and Emailing Hasbro about it around October and didn't get a reply until only a few weeks ago. And that was only after I'd made a couple of more phone calls to prompt a response. I've yet to receive word about the convention itself. It really makes me wonder if they really do care about the fans, because all their actions indicate that they're far more interested in making money.

In contrast, when I received my Masterpiece Convoy, I was horrified to find that it was missing one small panel. The next day I called their customer service call centre in Tokyo. I was asked to Email the details to one of their staff members in their International Division, and within less than a day I received a reply stating that they would contact their warehouse and see if they have any spare parts that they can send to me, and that I would receive an update on this situation on Monday. Wow! Takara actually cares about their customers!
