Subject: SCF PVC collections

I'll open by saying I need 5 of the act 1 figures- Prime, Megatron, Ultra Magnus, God Ginrai, and Starscream. I also need an act 4 Rodimus with Matrix. I'll buy from overseas sellers if you take Paypal. I do not need the stand, I have plenty of those from pewters.

Heroes of Cybertron was a lesson in poor distrubution. Small drug and grocery store chains, not even the popular ones. I found most of mine at Meijer. Most Walgreens only got in 3 figures at a time. Not to mention the light piping eye gimmick was a sad mistake from the start. It didn't work. Usually the face would be so thinly painted the whole head would glow. Casting the figure in transparent plastic then painting it over was probably a mistake too considering most of Hasbro's paint jobs were downright hideous. I saw a number of figures with paint globs and fingerprints. I never even found anything past wave 3.

The only good part? They gave us chase figures. The difference in construction allowed this, it seems. SCF Skywarp was limited to 200 pieces. Figures such as Dirge, King Starscream, and Paradron Medic became widely available. I'll give the line that. And they weren't blind packed. And we even got some new items. "Spark Attack" God Ginrai, as well as the OTFCC exclusives Sunstorm and "Decepticon".

However, I've managed to get the SCF versions for no more than I'd pay for HoC. Especially now that I'm not wasting gas for the 50 mile drive to their list stores only to not find anything.

Not counting chases, I have the whole of acts 3, 5, 6, 7, and 8. A full set of act 2, and sealed acts 3(to get Fort Max, hopefully, and my Ironhide had a mold flaw), 9, and 10 cases are on their way. In terms of chases, I have Grand Max, Black Zarak, Scorponok, and the Victory Saber bonus pieces. Of course, I'm also bogged down with pewters and clears, plus HoC's I've replaced. Shy of a couple of repaint opportunities, I may just batch sell those off.

I did paint up a pewter Omega Supreme in Mechabot-1 colors. I also painted up a second in bootleg "Space Tank" colors by the spraypaints I used never fully dried, so I may have to get another pewter OS and try again. I also kitbashed a "Rebirth" Cerebros head from the heads of Ginrai and Go-Shooter. You can see that here(cut and paste, it's Geocities)-

The head is as accurate as I could get it. The colors were a compromise as the animators swapped his colors almost at random.
I also have a spare color Go-Shooter which I may paint up in US Siren colors(granted, I'm questioning the point... they're not that different). And I'm toying with the idea of building a Predaking.
