As for Region 2, I recommend setting your DVD player to Region 0 - that is, no region locking. Your player will then be able to play DVDs from any part of the world.
The code for unlocking the region coding differs from brands and models, e.g.: for LG DVD players, simply key in the first couple of digits for Pi, including the 3.

You can look up the code for disabling the region lock on your player on the internet, otherwise, simply ask your retailer (as enforced region locking is actually outlawed, which means that although they can sell you a region locked player, they can't withold information on how to unlock it... when I bought my player from Dick Smith, I immediately asked for the unlocking code and they printed me out a copy to key in at home).
