Subject: My Very First Japanese Import! (pointless prattle)

I'm just writing in 'cause I'm all excited to have just bought my very first imported Japanese Transformer!

(I'm claiming to have it now since I paid for most of it, but some of the money is for Christmas, so it's not quite all mine yet).

When I was 5 one of my very first Transformers was a Powermaster Optimus Prime I got for Christmas and I loved that 'bot to death. Even now I'm looking at it's headless remains with fond memories.

But, as fond as my memories are, the toy looks pretty tired now, so I went out and bought myself a brand new God Ginrai for Christmas. Needless to say I'm one happy camper.

I'm especially impressed by the fact that God Ginrai is a superior toy to PM OP which sort of gives me a warm feeling like, if I pretend God Ginrai is the toy had, my cherished childhood toy was actually better than I remember it being.
Yeah, I'm lying to myself, but still the better quality of God Ginrai makes me feel like I'm not looking back on my childhood through rose colored glasses.

Furthermore, having Godbomber included makes the nostalgia a little more interesting since I never had a Godbomber before. And, while it's a pretty lousy Transformer on its own, it adds something new to my old favorite toy which I enjoy.

Sorry to all who thought this was a meaningful post, but I'm just excited and overcome with nostalgia.

Anybody else got similar stories to share?
