Subject: The beginings of the Empire in episode 2

Well "Attack of the Clones" was a lame tittle anyway you look at it. And as for the status of the clones themselves I don't know if they could really be termed "good guys". Pretty much everyone in the movie was being played by Sidious, giving the whole movie kind of an unusual (for Starwars) grey feel much like Empire had. Sure the clones saved the day for the beleaguerd Jedi, and won the battle. But with so many Jedi lost and a galctic war breaking out one gets the sense it was a pyrrhic victory.

Hmmmm what I found quite amusing about episode 2 was that, in a manner of speaking Jar jar Binks gave birth to the Empire. He was the one who called for the vote to give the Chancellor emergency powers, powers I doubt the chancellor will relinquish anytime soon, and will no doubt lead to the Empire as we know it in episode IV. And given his lack of popularity with the fans I think it's fitting he has become a scapegoat for the creation of the Empire.

As for episode III, I'd expect the Clone Wars to be about over by then with the Republic pretty much become the Empire, and Palpatine using the threat of the seperatists as an excuse to squash his foes( much like Hitler did with the Communists). Still who knows what Lucas has in mind for episode III, maybe Jar jar will be assasinated? we can only hope.
