Wait, wait, wait, wait...

You're saying you won't buy a potentially awesome toy just because (1) It's an Autobot, even though G1 used the name Scavanger for a Decepticon nearly twenty years ago (2) Its robot mode looks like a classic G1 character and (3) Because its robot mode looks like another classic G1 character, is that it?

Gee, it must really stick in your skidplate that RID Optimus Prime (Fire Convoy) looks like G1 Optimus Prime in robot mode, but looks like a Protectobot in vehicle mode. And it also must burn you up that Armada Starscream looks like G1 Starscream in both modes, but isn't an F1 Fighter Jet.

Let me give you an energon goodie of free advice here, Ax. Let go of G1. We're lucky Hasbro even bothers to give us Transformers anymore, much less ones that make cool references to the old characters we grew up with. I'm quite certain if it weren't for devoted fans who smile knowingly at a G1 reference and think "I know who this 'bot looks like" we would be swimming in Transformer toys that convert from one chibi looking creature to another (all those who have seen Digimon toys please sit down).

Okay, I'll accept your strange reasoning for not wanting to buy Armada Scavanger, but please don't try to convince me Hasbro has done a bad thing here. Like Gok, I'll most likely be picking the toy up and doing that smiling knowingly thing while daydreaming of a time long past.

Roll out.
