Last I heard, Marvel owned Ravage. They bought the rights to the name so that they could use it as the title of the comic we now know as Ravage 2099.

Of course, the entire 2099 line of books has folded like a card table so I don't know what the story is.

Also, I tend to assume everybody is smarter than I am, and that they know everything I know, which leads to big problems, so here's a proper explanation for why Hasbro can't use some classic names and why names like Grindor and Ro-tor exist...

Basically you can only register a word for your exclusive use if the word doesn't exist in the English language. Words like ravage and bluestreak and, yes, even transformers can only be held for a limited time, and at a cost to the company that wants them. Weird, arguably crappy, names like Rhinox, Movor and Grindor are used because it's more cost effective (ahem... cheaper) for Hasbro to make a name up that vaguely sounds like an English word than it is for them to sit on a much cooler name that can't be registered.
