Last night was the 2002 AnimeUNSW Eat-Out, where for the third time in a row, my friends and I have turned up in costume.

At the 2000 AnimeUNSW Eat Out, I came as a member of the Shinsengumi from Rurouni Kenshin. Last year, I came as Jigokusensei Nuubee (Hell Teacher Nuubee), which was a pretty lame costume, considering it was just a business suit plus one left glove to conceal my so-called "demon hand".

Last night I appeared as none other than the Emperor of Destruction MEGATRON!! Muahahahaha.

Having a full time job atm, I had little time to construct a costume, so the costume was pretty lame. It consisted of:
* A silver/black/red bicycle helmet
* A cardboard chest/shoulder piece spray-painted grey with other details (e.g.: Decepticon logo) drawn in permanent marker.
* Two black kenjutsu gloves (they seriously look like robot hands)
* Gray track suit pants, jacket and black shoes.
* One big cardboard roll spray-painted black as the fusion cannon (but I didn't have time to attach it to my arm).

...that's it.

Possibly the lamest Megatron costume ever constructed, but it was pretty cool anyway.
And indeed I received many a strange stare as I caught a bus from Anzac Parade to the CBD and walked around the QVB. In fact, a group of Japanese tourists decided to take photographs ot me (at which I yelled "this planet shall be mine!" really loudly in Japanese). :p

After dinner, we all walked to Karaoke World, and again, I unleashed my Megatron persona upon the hapless staff. Muahahahaha (cough). Afterwords, we caught a bus back to UNSW. Being rather late at night, all the morons were out and about. One guy who was obviously stoned came up and ... urr... complimented me (I think) on my costume. I told him he would make an excellent slave and to begin harvesting Energon. On the bus, there was one idiot who kept on saying only two things repeatedly; "you're a trooper" and "what is he on?"

One of my friends later pointed out that he was sitting there all on his own sounding like a moron, whilst I was cool enough to dress up in a box and still be surrounded by friends (re: maintain superior popularity). (:

Anyway, other people were out and about with digital cameras, and as soon as someone emails me a copy of the pic, I shall upload them and show them to all.

Woot (no, I don't spell it "w00t," cos that'd be pronounced as "doublelew-zero-zero-tee").
