Your son's problems suggest some kind of learning disorder.
Perhaps dyslexia but I think more than that. Go to crossinology.com and learn about Crossinology, Brain Integration Technique, a 1 1/2 to 2 hour assessment can determine what areas or parts of the brain may not be functioning properly. A determination to see if he would likely be left handed or right handed is part of the assessment. At this site you will find a list of Certified Brain Integration Practitioners. If you live in or near Utah go to pthutah.com. Most of learning disorders such as dyslexia, ADHD, can usually be corrected.
