I know of irlen myers sydrome. There are some books on it. Although my son has not been diagnosed with it, as he has not been tested for it. I have found that my son, who is dyslexic, reads much better in low, preferably natural (sun) lighting. On his computer, he has the brightness at the lowest setting, which makes it hard for other people to read, but good for him. Whiteness of the paper does bother his eyes as well. We have not gone the tinting route, mostly because my son does not want the tinted glasses, as this will make him different from the other kids. I have tried to convince hi to wear sunglassses for reading, but he won't. Fluorescent lighting is the worst for reading, but unfortunately the schools and teachers are not typically willing to turn off the lights and use the natural light from the windows, in my experience. I am not sure if this helps any, but these are my experiences my son.
