I was told the same thing...I was told the TERM Dyslexic is a medical term and that the school system does not recognize this as a Learning Disability but as a Mental Handicap. I think something seriously needs to be dealt with because now that my son is in middle school they are wanting to put him in an EC class...There is nothing Mentally handicap about him, soars in math, excellant basketball, and baseball player...this is clearly a Learning Disability
