While the ipad maybe very convenient and has some good features, especially for books etc, I do not believe this is the best device for the task. I think it would be difficult to get features like full spell checking and additional software. On a laptop several programmes exit to aid students including standard word processors with built in spell checking also easier to modify text size, colour, and brightness on a standard laptop. Further typing can be difficult on the ipad even with a remote keyboard. Therefore I would stick with a standard laptop.
