my daughter is 10 she has an early birthday so she started school being the youngest in her class. In preschool the teachers would complain that she wouldnt sit during story time.I had her tested for adhd and she started taking medication for that. It helped but then when she started kindergarden she had problems with sight words. she repeated kindergarden and i hoped it was just a problem with her being so young. She continued to have trouble and fell further behind.By the 3rd grade I asked the school to test her for a disabilty. After getting the run around they said they had to try different things first before they could test her finally in the 4th grade they tested her and found she was dyslexic. She is now doing very good and she is proud of herself and not feeling like she is stupid.Because of the disabilty act it is law that a child with a disabilty recieve acommidations to help them suceed in school.I would ask the school to test your child and if found to have a disabilty make them give your child the help he or she needs.
