Thank you for your reply.

I have done some of the initial testing so far through my own expense but cannot afford at all a prviate school or paying for further testing.

I have spoken to everyone I can, sometimes just to vent, sometimes hoping they know the right person! Everyone agrees that in my particular case the behavior of principal has been unacceptable and they are angry too. This helps to keep me going.

I am not going to give up but I can see what an uphill and long battle it will be, I feel overwhelmed. Also heartbroken because I remember how happy and secure he was before the struggles.

Not just getting him to read but all the emotional and behavior issues that come with this. ALso the more we get into this the more I see how severe it is for him. I know it is good I am starting at 7 and not when he is an adult but still... the longer it takes the worse you see it getting! Fortuantely his teacher this year has been amazing and taken great care to use individualized teaching with him finding his strengths and using those. He would be in real trouble if it weren't for her!

I do have someone who used to work in the field and he is going to guide me in getting the school to help him. He is not going to take no for an answer and has taken it as a personal mission, bless his soul!

I most of all wonder where is the help for the families with Dyslexia? Not sure where to start looking. Online I have found a lot of information if I were living in Britain or the US.

Sometimes one just needs to vent and hear what worked for other parents in real time.

Claire
