My sensitive bright daughter was HAPPY to hear she had dyslexia.

I basically said "There is a reason you don't read as well as other kids", it's not your fault and youare special. you have a gift. Much like spider man or superman though, it will take a little while before you can control your 'powers'. :)

My daughter has an extremely high IQ and has very strong social skills. It never made sense to her (or me!) why she struggled so much with school. Now we know why, for her it was good news.
