As parents, I think our job is to provide a supportive and comfortable setting where our children's lives are comfortable and happy and not one long agonising saga of argument and corrections. I know this now, as a grandma, I didn't know it when my two boys were young. School should be doing the teaching, you can help by consolidating and confirming, but not by making homework and homelife a misery. Get the school to provide additional support
