We had the same problem with our girl she is in the 2nd grade now. We had to fight for that. Do not let the school tell you they can't pay for it They are required under the NO Child Left Behind Law. Look up the law and the 504 Plan. Talk to the councler and any and everyone in the school or above the school. They will see you are not going to just go away and then they will step up.
We had to do this with our daughter. Last year they finally did it the last week of school. After I told them I knew about the law and would be going higher up. She is no longer at that school but is getting the help she needs. If they don't have a plan for Dyslexia they have to make one or bus your child to a school that does.
They are just trying to save $$$. Do not let them hold your child back just for a few $$.
