I have just finished assignment 2 in my Dyslexia course and have taken an interest in how the brain and Dyslexia work. My story is a bit sad but does have a happy ending. I have two Dyslexic boys one age 11yrs and the other 18yrs old. The eldest had a serious car accident which required two lots of brain surgery. The cells which are as I read atomic when forming and position themselves in the wrong part of the brain to form, causing Dyslexia I believe this is true. My son struggled with maths and took so long to work things out. He is back at work full-time as apprentice mechanic. My miracle child to be alive and functioning normal. He came home one night and said to me what did the neurosurgeons do to my brain. I said why do you ask.I did some maths today and what would of taken a hour to work out took me 10 mins. The Craniotomy and evacuation of his brain is the only answer I could give him. Would like to know what you think of my story as he is a miracle.
