I have a 24 year old daughter (college graduate) and 17 year old son (senior in High School, just accepted to college) both with dyslexia. The tools that have been beneficial for both of them
1. Orton Gillingham Tuoring
2. Dragon Naturally Speaking
3. Reading for Blind and Dyslexic (RFBD) for audiobooks
4. Either Kurzweil or Read and Write Gold Mobile software, these also help with reading of electronic books, websites and writing papers
5. Extended time on tests-they have the option, typically do not need it, however if there is a lot of reading involved it helps.

You can also seek out scribe for class notes, oral exams, or use of laptop with supportive software (mentioned above) to take written exams.

Now, gear up, learn about these options and advocate!
