Sadly so many teachers worldwide, who should have our children at heart, fail to provide the right support for children with learnign problems. Teachers can destroy children with labelling them as "stupid" and far worse. Building up their self-esteem is vital. It is a crime that your daughters school shows little interest in taking up this government funding. Many schools focus on highly able children and those that cannot keep up are pushed aside. I am a SEN teacher as well as having a dyslexic daughter now 28 years of age) and a grandson with ADHD. I have witnessed terrible situations and have spoken up only to be pushed aside and labelled as a "trouble maker" by management but I feel so strongly at seeing these children being destroyed and broken by teachers. A teacher will make or break a child - how many of us loved a certain subject when at school solely because we liked the teacher, teachers have a major impact on the future learning of children. I really do beleive that it is time that teachers realised this.
