Warning to parents and teachers of dyslexic students: I feel I must warn you that some posters on this message board seem to advise glasses, vision treatments, or new phonics programs. Unless the reading therapy or treatment is ORTON-GILLINGHAM BASED IT WILL NOT WORK. At the very least, call the International Dyslexia Assn. and ask them. They will tell you the same thing. Please don't let these opportunists try to "cash in" on your concerns and worries. Yes, dyslexia is managable, but don't waste your money on new fixes. The tried and true methods are what work.
