Our school only did some very basic testing, so we took our son to get a full evaluation. It gave us more insight into what his strengths and weaknesses were so that we could teach to his strengths. His school uses SLANT which he seems to be responding too. It is a slow process though. My son also gets bored with TouchMath. So they use a lot of manipulatives with him and an aid does his math orally with him. Once they started doing this, they realized he's quite good at math and does all the work in his head.
