Subject: "burned by HIPAA"......WSCA session that is!!!

The flyer and advertisements read: "The WSCA’s HIPAA preparedness programs are specific to chiropractors. You will learn exactly how HIPAA is going to affect you and get the tools and training to bring you into compliance." Hmmmmmmm, maybe I missed something but when I attended the Moses Lake session the only thing I witnessed was a big bait and switch sales job .... That we paid to attend. Of course, there were those all important "tools and training" we recieved, for the one time, specially negotiated WSCA price of $225.

Don't get me wrong, HIPAA is real and there are procedures and policies that will effect all of us. However, I expected more from our state association......it would have been reasonable to expect some actual applicable information and examples of basic forms, check lists and
procedures to evaluate each office. Maybe a HIPAA Lite.

One thing is for sure, you fooled me once.......but not again. PS......there are numerous sites that can provide you the steps for HIPAA and help your office become in compliance.
