Gentlemen,
The "big deal" with medicare is not the limited services we are allowed currently to provide, but the politics of recognition of the chiropractic profession and the definition of services and our role in health care on the national level.

The history and details of the medicare issue are too complex to list here. The bottom line is that the law suit now in progress against HCFA (now CMS) by the ACA will determine how the fed's define us as a profession and what services they will pay. It's a scope of practice concern because private insurance companies will use these outcomes for validating their policies in limiting coverage of chiropractic.

As the ACA delegate for WA I would be happy to provide detail materials on the suits regarding medicare and the Tigon Blue Cross/ Blue Sheild in Virginia. Both these suits will have defining outcomes for the future of chiropractic nationally and how we are accepted and paid for our services locally. Your help is needed to support these legal actions!
