Subject: right elbow surgery meeded desperately

My son is 27 years old and needs surgery on his right elbow desperately. He had one surgery on it when he was around 12 or 13 years old. They were suppose to put pin in it to help hold it more stable but we were told that his arm was messed up worst than they thought and the pins might splinner the small bone worse. He still has a lot of trouble with it - it pops on him, he cannot straighten it out (even after going through therapy) and the pain gets really bad. He was trying to go to school up at Fairmont, West Virginia (School of Industrial Designs and Arts). He went there a total of three months and had to come back home because of his arm and he couldn't afford rent and food both to go to school, so he was doing without food. That's not what sent him home though - his pain in his arm. He went to the emergency room at Fairmont and they sent him to see a Dr. Scott Silverstein at the West Virginia University Hospital in Morgantown, West Virginia. Dr. Silverstein said he definitely needed the surgery now but we don't have the money and he doesn't have any insurance. The emergency room called me and said they did not know how he was even able to use his arm. Well, when you don't have insurance nor a job, until you can get yourself put back together right and have a complete physical no one will hire you - it would be dishonest. Is there anyone can help him get the physical and surgery he needs. He took encephallitis when he was 15 and almost died. He had to miss a lot of school for the entire year. He was very lucky to live, the doctors didn't think he would as he had swelling of the brain and the spine and had a temperature of 105 degrees every day. I thank GOD everyday he is still with us. His health is not good but he is a pro when it comes to the computer. Designing, programming, working on them, and he taught hisself by reading books. (I think it was a GOD - given talent for him. If somone could help with his health (we cannot - my husband is getting ready to have a complete knee replacement has not been able to work since last September. Seems like, things keep getting worse and worse. This family has gone through a lot. My nerves are really bad and so is my son's. I have to take everything a few minutes at a time - not even a day at a time. My oldest son is overseas in the war - I pray for him and each and every soldier and people of the land overthere. I just know if my youngest could get the help he needs, he would make everyone so proud (including himself). Seems like if you don't have money - you just can't get the breaks you need. He needs his self-confidence back. His uncle is dying of cancer and his grandmother had a stroke. A lot has happened in this family. We do not have any money - but that doesn't bother me - what bothers me is to see my son whom is so talenented with computers can't get a start with some company, showing them of what value they could be to each other. I am sad right now - my son can't go to college - he was going to try to go close to home this time, he cannot his surgery and his physical (this is his life). Yes, it scares me a lot. Sometimes, I go to bed crying because I know he has given up. Please help him. I know down the road somewhere - you will be rewarded. Thank you so very much for letting me share this story with you. May GOD bless you all. Sincerely, Becky
