I think it's perfectly understandable that you'd be upset by the actions of your employees. It sounds like they are taking advantage. Obviously you are a good boss to work for, but they could at least keep the place presentable. Some people...give them and inch and they take a mile. I think I'd just have a talk with them and in a nice, but firm way, let them know that before they spend their time chatting, smoking, whatever, you'd like to see them pitch in and clean up the place. If they all chipped in, it wouldn't take long and then they could chat if they don't have work to do.

I got a laugh out of the guy that cleaned the bathroom just swishing the brush around in the bowl because he didn't know you had toilet cleaner ;) I mean... toilet cleaner under the sink???? Who would have ever "thunk" it??? He sounds like a real Einstein.

Hope you made it through the day without choking them.
