Sounds like a tough road. I don't wish, to sound blunt, but why would you let him have such power over you? You know? Love is love, but there is nothing wrong with self-preservation. I'd look for another place to live, leave him alone.......go on, and start looking for fresh horizons. Plus, it sounds like, he has the best of both worlds, no obligations to you.....and lotsa sex.
