Subject: A movie to see if you know a Veteran....

Hi...we just got back from seeing Mel Gibson's new movie,"We were soldiers"....oh, what a powerful movie. Anyone who knows a Vietnam Veteran, and maybe doesn't understand just what they saw over there...see this movie.

It is a war movie, but it also deals with the emotional aspects of what those guys went through. It was a powerful movie, and for me, things finally came together for me.

I finally "got it" so to speak. I must have cried through 2/3 of it...and Mel did an excellent job as usual.

If Dave is reading this..I wouldn't think it would be a good idea for you to view it. It reenacts a very very painful tragedy for you...almost to exacting detail. Know that I thought of you when I saw that.

Anyway, it really showed what those guys did for our country. This movie showed the first altercation with the VC when we were just "advisors". It is only left to our imagination what else happened the next 10 years after that.

It was an awesomely powerful movie, one I will never forget.

Love, Mikki
