Subject: What about now?

I’ll likely regret posting this, but this has been on my mind off and on for the past week. I think that we all want to enjoy our lives; both as they currently are and as they will be in the future. Somewhere in all of that I think that most us of decide that there are certain things that will help us to have that good life. Things like certain achievements, a family, a specific kind of career, etc. I’ve often heard life compared to a game. In theory, we can make moves to enjoy this game. However, what if one is currently poorly positioned in the game? What if the choices seem limited and the game isn’t fun? Can we totally change this position?

There comes a point in many games where one can see a few moves, but one realizes that one can’t win. I usually stop at this point and begin the game again as I don’t enjoy the remaining moves in a game that I’m going to lose in the end. Unlike a game of solitaire where the cards can be shuffled and the game can begin fresh again, our life are limited to one game. Today, it seems difficult to me to enjoy the moves that I have left because I don’t see a way to “win” the overall game of life.
