No answers, but sure can understand how you feel working that front desk. I throw my hands up in the air many times, I try to be nice and humorous and seem to just stick my foot in my mouth and say the wrong things to people, so I usually hibernate and do my best to stay in my own private world aside from professional communications on my work days like that.
