Welcome to our group. I have only been here two weeks myself, but they are a great bunch. First. I'd like to say that maybe if your husband got some information about depression, he would be more understanding. Sometimes people's ignorance is what causes the problem. If he hasn't really been exposed to the disorder, he may not know a lot about it. Perhaps he could see your therapist and have him/her explain it better.
Secondly, depression can change us and we want to go back or fix it. I'm hoping medication and therapy combined will alleviate your symptoms enough to help you. You can't pressure yourself to snap out of it or to "fix it" so you're back to yourself. It's not a quick fix. It takes time and therapy and meds, and even then, you may still not feel completely "back to normal". In fact, it's not likely you will feel ENTIRELY back to yourself, but it gets better. Anyway, I'm always here to support and understand you. Post or e-mail me anytime. I'm home all day, and right now, so are you. I check in a lot. Take care and keep in touch. You are in my thoughts and again--Welcome aboard fellow castaway!

linda
