even though i have not played wow at high end, the discussion you guys are having about requirements for end game pve and the “need” to join/merge with another guild is very familiar to me.

uo is nothing like wow, we all know that. wow is a daoc style game where a) group set up, b) items and c) the latest patch gimmicks have a greater impact on pvp. skill still rules supreme overall – but you have to have the other 3 too.

the reason i play wow is because the lvling and the pve requirements for pvp are less than in daoc. they are considerably less and have less impact on pvp. and i can say that in daoc my skill ruled supreme against all others of my class despite my shit pve gear and no gimmicks at all. the best members in our guild hated pve and did only the minimum of it – the rest was spent pvping.

there is plenty of mrc in the guild – and even better once you guys make a serious name for mrc (some of this is happening already as evident by comments i hear at lvl33) we will be able to pick from the best players with the best gear out there.

vote no on any merge and vote heavily for pvp practice, pve is only a tool to get to pvp, nothing more. i know that it can be frustrating to loose rolls on items but also…

…the perfect set of gear will always be just ahead of you. and it is the job of the game designers to fool you into believing this.

with some 300 days real time played in daoc – what i describe above is what i (and tg guild on merlin) have learned the hard way.
