Hey Cliff -- sorry I haven't written to you in a while. Things are increadably busy, as you might imagine.

Yea, I was suposed to rotate back to Georgia about a week ago, but that's when things hit the fan. I had all my bags packed even and then we got word of the rioting on the Lower East side. Don't know if you heard, there was even an attack here at the World Trade center. I got lucky, or unlucky I supose, and managed to catch the perps in the action. Who says intellegence work isn't exciting. Don't worry, it was a bit dicey for a minute, but I'm fine. Bennington says that the perps were some sort of Islamic fundamentalist group... don't know how much that fits if you ask me... but they are the boss right?

Anyway, I guess that got the attention of the brass, because two days later I found myself on General Brodin's staff! I supose I am an aide for one of his aides. Not so bad huh? Brodin's a good guy, solid soldier. He was in the Gulf back in '91 commanding the 71st Armored. He's technically over retirement age, but he's the sort of general the Pentagon loves, record as clean as his boots. Well, he was assigned to NYC a few months ago, right after that wave of terrorism in December. They put him in charge of UN security, standard prestegeous job they give to old brass. Not sure why they gave him such an important assignment as putting down the rioting, guess he was the most important guy in the area.

Things are pretty bad in the Emergency Zone right now. I guess you know alot of that, I know your clinic is being used for overflow. Its pretty dangerous to walk the streets at night, even groups of cops were getting killed. Durring the day things seem alot better, that's why they instituted the curfew. I'm guessing martial law will last for a couple of weeks.

Michel
