Actually, the fact that Hope's is public is the reason I picked it. I mean, it's not unreasonable to assume that other people could read this post, and if I say to meet somewhere private at a specific time, we have no idea who might show up. We all enjoy a certain level of anonymity on this board, and I'd like to preserve that.
Now, we could always arrange to meet somewhere private via some communication that isn't so public, but if I give you a phone number, it can be traced. If we communicate via a mutual aquaintance, then that person must be named. Neither way appeals to me much.
Now if we meet at Hope's, however, the situation is different. If anyone reads this and shows up at Hope's looking for two vampires talking to each other, they'll have lots of specimans to pick from, and we have a little more privacy. Besides, if things get a little intimate, we can always go somewhere more private after we meet.
