Well, I can certainly understand not fitting in. The vampire community as a whole doesn't seem to think that medecine is a suitable profession for a vampire. After all, healing mortals doesn't advance you in vampiric politics, and vampires don't need doctors (or so everyone thinks). Not only does my practice label me as foolish and naive, it also provides an easy way for my enemies to strike me through my patients. I know what it is to hear a different drummer.

So here's the best advice I can give you about surviving as an outsider.

1) Make friends - you will be more likely to survive if people like you. This doesn't mean that you have to suck up, but treat people respectfully, listen to what they have to say, and let your actions ring with kindness. If you want to make a new friend, you have to meet them where they are, you can't expect them to come to you. Try to sense the mood of a situation, and slide in humbly and intelligently. Don't take control of a conversation because the other people will grow frustrated and indignant. Rather rather see what you can learn first, what you can add second, and what you can improve last.

2) Control - You have a great deal of power coursing through your veins, and you must learn to control it. Frenzy as seldom as possible. Use your mind first and your weapons last. Think before you speak, and make sure that everything you say is both true and necessary. The vampire world is churning with manipulators; if you aren't controlling yourself, somebody else probably is.

3) Stay human - Medically, you aren't still human, and many vampires use this as an excuse to become selfish and depraved. Remember that you were a human once, and you're young enough that you would be still if you hadn't been embraced. Remember this when you are pressured to do horrible things to mortals.

4) Be Brujah - We are Brujah, and we are called to a higher purpose. We alone among the Camarilla raise our eyes to the horizon and hope for better life beyond the hills. We have more natural raw power than any other clan, and as a result we must use it to protect, nurture, and build our society into something greater. Never lose that vision, for it is the essence of our clan.

I hope this helps. I would recommend talking to Julia. She is one of the few elders who can be trusted to give honest advice, and she has raised enough children to know what advice needs to be given.
