The killing of Linda Wentworth, besides shocking the city and the nation has caused an uproar amoung the city's politicians. Gulianni today asked that the army be withdrawn, "We are thankful for the army's help in quelling the disturbances in the city, but it is time for them to leave." This call was echoed by Govenor Pataki and Senator Clinton.

Senator Cypress, who with Senator Clinton was one of the first to call for the army's intervention, disagreed, "This unfortunate incident should not sully the fine reputation of the United States Army, nor should it prevent that army from doing its job in the City of New York." The Senator's opinion seems to be in the minority however. Neither President Bush or General Maxwell Brodin were avalible for comment at press time.
