He had broken a promise..had used magic upon Cricket. Now..he found himself at the temple.

He hated these places.
This man without a God, that was not above them, but could not be controlled by them, rarely entered temples. Of course this was the only one he deigned in any sort of commensuration. It was given to this church. The holy order of Sune the Goddess of the sun and all light and warm places. A Goddess he in his own way, revered. No acolyte or temple guardian greeted him...but a woman dressed in flowing golden silks with darkened skin and shining hair...speaking of her own worship of the sun.
This woman was wrinkled from time but still bared one breast. Over it rested a golden (?).
She was small and Burgoo could have crushed her if he willed. He instead held out a box of shining metal, that when opened, would show a perfect amber piece glowing like the morning sun. Taken from a liches lair it was the first symbol dedicated to Sune and had been lost for many thousands of years. Burgoo had taken it from a coven of witches that used it to kill the undead splitting the balance of evil and good. Now it rested within the temples hold.
He almost sneered at the Goddess, but he needed this womans respect if her were to survive the night.
Two men roughly searched him for weapons and removed everything metal from him accept for his breeches, and even then the metal buttons where popped off. Again he swallowed his pride....and so much swallowing he had to do.
Slowly he was lead up ot the alter. Many prayers started summoning the Goddess , a gease was being laid. The priestess spoke. "Speak your need mortal Geen". Oh that made him wince...but he had to do this or risk loosing Cricket forever
"I wish this gease to settle that I may use no magic upon the woman known as Cricket, Second Mistress of house Du'mont and wife to this man. Unless asked or desprately needed and in no way may I touch her with magic, pending such terms of my death, passing my soul into the realm of hell"
At that it seemed a bell tolled and a line of pure white light shot from a statue of Sune. A robed woman, greatly beautifull with one breast bared, that holy symbol glowed and pulsed wrapping his soul and burning in his set rules.
Soon a white dove would land on the woman known as Crickets shoulder and she would see all that had been spoken and done. Even the moment Burgoo bent over himself pulling at his skin for over his heart seemed a metallic sun had been tattooed it would fade but never disapear.
He stood up then. He looked weak, but that holy magic had settled much of his life and taken away a bit of him and remade it settling it back within his body. His massive shoulders seemed a bit higher as he began to walk out. He would not lose her.
Later, Shard would appear note in beak that bird always seemed to find her dead ass. Its only words were.
"Please Return."
Written in the fine script of his hand, but with it was a slowly drawn Burgoo of house Dumont.
It was addressed to Cricket of house Dumont. They had done one thing, that two street tough bad asses could never do in all there days. Become family because of a girl they both loved. And because of their mutual love, he had made a sacrifice and in the following days would make more and more.
