Just a friendly invitation! -- Freddy, 20:29:58 10/04/05 Tue

San antonio raceway has agreed to allow us to start a heads up class and it includes cars like the ones that run here at FSTA. Our race will take place during our Midnight Madness program on Saturday Oct. 22, 2005
Here are the rules and the way it will be laid out.

Extreme Warrior
Slicks ok
Mufflers required
True 10.5 tire max
Stock type suspension
Trailer cars welcome
No dual power adders allowed
up to 2 nitrous kits only
91mm limit on turbos.
Small Blocks 2900lbs.min.
Big Blocks 3100lbs.min.
Ladder bar cars add 150lbs.

Entry fee $100
payout 100% back + $100.00 from track

All racers pitch in $100.00 and 100% of entry fees will be paid back plus $100.00 from track. It is free car and driver for Extreme Warrior racers at the gate. We will divide the purse however the racers fell suited before the race starts. This will start and take place at the next Midnight Madness Oct.22, 2005

example of purse: 8 car = $900.00
winner could be $500.00
runner up could be $200
Semis $100.00
More cars more purse!
This is just a example of a way to split up the purse.

[> Re: Just a friendly invitation! -- n/a, 21:39:27 10/04/05 Tue

I'm assuming Turbo cars will weigh the same as BB NOS? You should look at the TTT5 rules for Turbos. There needs to be limits on size and intercooler type. Don't be catering to your SA boys!

[> [> So the track is only going to throw in a $100?? -- Oh man, 22:28:41 10/04/05 Tue

So the track is only going to use 7 gates tickets, $15 each, towards the purse? Do I need to go on?

I think they should let David Wolf run so he can shut your crybaby ass up. He has stock suspension and true 10.5's you are just scared because he has his shit together and did his share of testing.

with an added torque arm just like a few of the FSTA cars. Look under some of the FSTA cars and you will see torque arms.

FSTA Racers Arriving on Sunday... -- makurtz, 21:27:34 09/15/05 Thu

Talked to Graham Baker. He is going to open the ticket booth for the FSTA racers at 8:30 am. I strongly suggest you get to the track before 8:00 am to avoid getting caught-up in any possible traffic back-up at the track entrance. FSTA & True 10.5 will be pitting in the circle track infield. See-ya there!

Please remember to use your FSTA car # on the tech card & car. If you joining to run this weekend, use the track's assigned car #. Thanks.

Sealy track closed until further notice?????????? -- MikeS, 17:41:34 09/13/05 Tue

Well, I dont know the entire reason for the track shut down of Sealy, maybe low car count, funds , ect.
But this now makes 3 shut down - Sealy, Temple, Navasota.
What else is to come? Spectator count counts for alot of cash flow, people pay to see excitement! bumper draggin, grudge races, heads up. Bracket racing is boring unless your a die-hard bracket racer. Whats next??????????????

[> Re: Sealy track closed until further notice?????????? -- Shawn, 01:26:52 09/14/05 Wed

I think FSTA needs to think hard before the next meeting. People want to see unlimited horsepower bumper dragging power. Do away with all the engine limitations. Yes fsta has a huge number of cars at every race, but they do not pack the stands. I remember at sealy there were 34 FSTA cars and about 14 spectators. If I spend my money to go see a race I would pay to see Joe Goldens TT5 over FSTA anyday, because of the extreme HP not just nitrous cars. It looks like almost all of the tracks that held our races are shut down. What now?

[> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Greg, 05:56:01 09/14/05 Wed

At the race you are refering was the Speed Vision Race and the stands had lots of fans. Mike (Sealy) was more than happy with all of our turnouts with the exception of the last one and we did everything in our power to get him not to do it but he would not listen. You can not go against 2 other events at the same time and expect to have fans and cars and especially back to back weekends. You always seem to be so negative. Maybe if you applied some of this energy in promoting the events you say you support and coming out and helping the org. that you belong to when your car is not running, things could get better. Nothing happens without Teamwork and Effort. Griping and complaining doesn't accomplish anything.

[Edit]

[> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Shawn, 06:13:56 09/14/05 Wed

Not trying to be negative, gripe or complain. I am just stating my opinion on what I see. Joe Goldens TT5 packs the stands because there are not alot of rules and all of the cars are closer in et. I have fun running FSTA but I think it needs changes to be better and get something besides all nitrous cars. I will help in any way I can, just ask. I offered to have the rules meeting at my house because it is half way between Houston and Austin so people didn't have so far to drive. I got no response, all I heard was that ya'll didn't have a place to have a meeting. I decided to put my car together I can't wait around forever on ordering custom parts (some turbo stuff is minimum 3 month wait)If ya'll let me race i'll race if not I will run texas true ten 5.

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- JIM, 06:46:40 09/14/05 Wed

Joes event packs the stand because of the location of the track! Its in the middle of shit ville and every swinging D*** comes out to gamble. end of story.

[> [> [> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Shawn, 07:22:50 09/14/05 Wed

I wasn't there but I heard there was nobody in the stands at the last HMP FSTA race?

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Greg (FSTA), 18:15:30 09/14/05 Wed

Well thats not true either Shawn. The Bakers were pleased with the turnout and we had plenty of fans. As far as you ordering parts, Our normal first race of the year isn't until March so even if we had the meeting in Dec you would still be fine. Having a place for the meeting has never been a issue. Scheduling so that the most people can attend has been the issue. Meeting will be in Oct. Should have a date soon. As for the stands being packed at Joes events, It's not just one event going on there. You have 10 seperate races going on at one time and someone that does nothing all day but promote the event 24/7. We don't have that luxury and it has taken him 6 years and lots of headaches to get to where it is at now and thats great. We are racers trying to provide a event for the True 10.5 guys to run in. If the tracks would step up and do the same thing we would not need the FSTA and we all could race. I for one would like to see the blower/turbo cars run with us but we need to make it a level playing field. Just my 2 cents. See ya in the lanes....

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Al- FSTA tech, 18:59:13 09/14/05 Wed

People say if we ask we ask for help they will, but we should'nt have to ask for help. If your car's broke you should come and ask if we need help. Help with tech, ladders, scales, staging lanes, it's a lot of work and we don't get paid for this shit. Some people complain about the ladder and the way we draw cars, where fast cars run fast cars, they only want to run slower cars, so they can move further in the rounds. We could run a NHRA ladder, where slow cars run fast cars based on qualifying time, but no one wants to see the slow cars run the fast car. We've had the same ladder since day 1. And it's not time to change now. I don't say much on the computer, but enough is enough, we need to make this work, not die..... HAVE A NICE DAY!

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> [> Re: Shawn your memory Fails you. -- Greg (FSTA), 21:12:07 09/14/05 Wed

Well put Al... Shawn, Can we count on you this weekend to help with the scales or staging lanes? Anyone else that isn't going to be racing it would be greatly appreciated to come and support the FSTA. Wheres the Tinman, Klint, Moody, etc? Come on out guys and join in.

[Edit]

[> [> Re: Sealy track closed until further notice?????????? -- Come on Shawn, 21:19:37 09/14/05 Wed

Quote
"I would pay to see Joe Goldens TT5 over FSTA anyday, because of the extreme HP not just nitrous cars. It looks like almost all of the tracks that held our races are shut down. What now?"

So you would like to see 4.80 car dominate the field and the rest of the cars in the 5.0-5.30 range? Sealy is shut down due to poor MGT, Temple is owner and buyer fighting, Navasota was a divorce issue and nome of these have anything to do with the FSTA. If you want unlimited HP rules you should try TORA. Oh thats right you tried that once, How many times did you place in the top 5?

[Edit]

[> [> [> Re: Sealy track closed until further notice?????????? -- Shawn, 01:26:58 09/15/05 Thu

The way I see it is that the small tires and stock suspension are the limiting factors, not engine combination. My opinion I would like to see conventional heads and any power adder or fuel. Look back a few years 2001 and 2002 when I ran outlaw 10.5 I did make top 5 at almost every race and # 1 or 2 qualifier at almost every race. I was also the 1st in texas to run 4.80's on 10.5's. Thats not saying much now but back then that was flying.
Get your facts straight.

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> Re: Sealy track closed until further notice?????????? -- Greg, 05:48:52 09/15/05 Thu

The small tire and stock suspension doesn't seem to limit a whole lot with some of our cars running in the 5.0 range. 4-5 years ago if you had a backhalfed car running in the 5.20 range you were flying and now true 10.5 is faster so there needs to be some motor limits. Again, just my 2 cents

Because of scheduling constraints. We had to cut back our qualifying/test to one round on Sunday. So if you need/want more than one test hit, Sat. is our test/tune day. FSTA will have exclusive test/tune rounds all day Sat. between the the other class rounds. Entry fee for car & driver is $35 for both days. The above schedule shows Class I & Class II but we are running only one class this weekend. Thanks.

Hey Pro88stang, maybe he will run a sb non-turboed stang, but I don't think he will run my turbo "small" block stang either. Those guys are SCARED!!! I'll try to make the meeting again but I don't really see them guys changing the rules. I'm not trying to hate but who cares if I run a turbo car. It's all stock underneath (wink, wink)on true 10.5's and street driven just like all the cars in FSTA. Pro is your car all motor or nos setup or Turbo?? I would like to see next year, turbos are allowed to run. I can think of 3 cars that would run but they all have coil overs. With that being said, once again that rule will not change. I would like to say that I'm not hating but like to see some rules changed. I do support FSTA and I do come out and watch. You guys have some fast rides and I bet with turbos cars running with yall, maybe we will see some new folks in the winning circle. Rob

Rob, I would love to have Turbos run with us. We just need to get some data from some of the turbo guys like yourself so we can make it fair for all. Send me an email with a # so we can talk. We want to open it up some more and give more varity for the fans. We are thinking of doing a panel of committe members to monitor the rules through out the year and make changes accordingly. As to running your Turbo Stang, yes you are a little out of my league for now but don't count out the ole camaro in the future. It has been around for awhile and should be around for years to come.

Just a thought -- Racer, 05:56:46 09/08/05 Thu

FSTA needs to put on a great show at the Impact race. To do that we need to ladder the cars correctly and not have all the fast cars running each other in the first couple of rounds. To get tracks to ask us to race we have to bring a show or they just won't ask us to come!

[Edit]

Replies:

[> Re: Just a thought -- Spec Tater, 18:54:02 09/09/05 Fri

The fans want to see side by side racing, not 5.20 car running a 6.20 car. Thats boring, but there are some of you that like to have a gimme instead of racing an equal car.

[Edit]

[> [> Yo Adrian -- another spectater, 07:15:49 09/10/05 Sat

Yeah, thats what I want to see, a 5.20 car and a 6.20 car in the final,That's what you end up with if you don't ladder by qualifying times. When you go to the race a HMP this weekend see if anyone else ladders like this. And there will be slower cars in every class but the fast cars that qualify well will get the better draw, that's why you Qualify! That's exciting, look around, what association anywhere wants the slower cars in the finals and semis? If the slower cars get there thats fine but they shouldn't get a better draw! Would you do watch NHRA if they laddered like yall do? I doubt it! you don't penalize for qualifying well and being fast and doing there homework to be FAST!

[Edit]

[> [> [> Re: Yo Adrian -- FSTA ADMIN, 08:07:29 09/10/05 Sat

Thats why we came up with the 5.75 class. Everyone else runs in the blind draw open class and it is the luck of the draw. Works good and only a few have complained when they drew a equal car in the first round.

Meeting -- racer, 07:12:15 09/10/05 Sat

So what is the deal with the meeting? Is FSTA ADMIN to lazy to get off their ass and do something? It can't be to hard to find a meeting place. Let the racers know something and not leave them hanging. I made plans to come to a meeting on the 10th so where in the hell is it?

Shawn, A date will be set but there were a lot of racers that could make the trip this week and then next weekend for the Impact race. We are working on a date that doesn't conflict with race dates and when the majority of the racers can attend. Thank you for you patience.

TECH FOR FSTA WILL CLOSE @ 1:30PM. Since our qualifying isn't needed for our ladder placement it will be used for those that wish to get a tune.

The qualifying rounds on Sunday will also be the ONLY time to get a test-n-tune run in during Sunday event schedule. The remaining schedule is fairly tight so these were put in to give FSTA an opportunity for testing under race day conditions.

lets have the meeting on the 10th anywhere but the track. We need it somewhere we can sit down and discuss issues, not stand in the heat. I'm sure someone has a place to have it there are alot of paid members in this class. If someone don't want to come because of gas prices they don't need to be there anyway. It is bad enough when we have drivers meetings before the race, you can't hear anything.

We had the last rules meeting at HMP in Dcember at Romanos Rebel Round up where you had a hand full of cars trying to get ready for the race in they which wasn't able to be in the meeting a 100% so they messed alot of it. I would rather have it somewhere else than at the track at one of or races because you go to the track to race NOT TO HAVE A MEETING.Hell lets have it in Conroe or somewhere else aslong as it is not the TRACK.

( I think you have 7 sec to roll in after the first guy lights up the 2nd bulb ) FSTA should always run auto tree b/c you got people like ROY playing around at the tree with his nos. Do your purging b4 you stage!! You got lucky Roy, you didn't get DQed. Let this be a lesson, b/c next time you will not be so lucky.

Hey Rob, The red light came on because the computer malfunctioned not because I was doing any" Playing around". I don't play around on the tree and I do not deep stage as many others do. Before you jump on people get the facts straight. If you do not believe me ask the owner of the track or the line guys , they will tell you what happened. First of all there was no luck involved, and secondly, thanks for the lesson. Everywhere we run the auto start is used and Lonestar uses it too! Have a nice day.

8-71 blower with carb. what a joke I guess I could build a blower motor and make 700 HP. Maybe someone needs to address the rules that knows what the fuck is going on. Rules need to meet all other engine combo rules for classes in Texas not just this (nitrous class). Anyone in the rules meeting that heres turbo or blower just freak out and vote in some dumb rules.

Austin Texas In the HOUSE!!!! -- Billy Stocklin, 07:28:09 08/14/05 Sun

RANDY DAVID- congrats man. You have worked very hard and I'm proud of you. You have that car running like a TOP.

Well I guess since Houstin cars didn't dominate last night at the FSTA race no one gives a shit. I do not have complete information but I can tell you that at 4 cars ALL were from Austin and 3 of them share a shop, and the fourth is tuned on by the shop the other 3 share.

Randy D.- Winner- Big block notch back mustang. Randy had the white GT that some of you may remember their was discussion about if the wheelie pics were photo shopped or not. I know they were not because I was standing behind the car. This is his new car (from last year) and his hard work and dedication has made this car move forward and NOT UP. Good job Randy, I'm proud. He has had alot of activity in his life in the last year (if you know Randy you know what I mean) and am proud he is part of the PUNISHER AUTOMOTIVE group which makes up the vast majority of my best friends.
John Dinkel- Runner up- Pontiac engine in a Ford Fairmont- Huh? Awesome set up John has raced since shortly after the rocks were formed. John is the Premier Fox chassis tuner (IMHO) in central Texas and this race is just another example of why. If you look at the FSTA results- John's cars have always gone deep and do good. I don't think their is a fast mustang out of Austin that John hasn't AT LEAST been through his shop, PUNISHER AUTOMOTIVE, at one time or another.

Ralph Howard- Semi. Ran against John Dinkel at 4 cars and lost. His car was completely built by Brad Dinkel- John's brother. He has had some suspension issues this year but keeps on working hard. He has been infamous for his 200 food wheelstands and the nut sack that drags the ground that is associated with these wheelstands. Ralph has come a long way and is turning into a very good heads up driver.

Chad Smallwood- Semi. Ran against Randy David. Chad's car shook the tires 2 weeks ago at Sealy that he destroyed the 8.8. His car has been 1.235 60' @ over 3000# with a small block which I'm suspicious puts him in a very elite group. Chad had to put in a 9" and change a few things to improve the longevity of his combination. He'll get it figured out and be back with a vengence.

Left the race right after your last pass. Was there any damage from that wild ride? Can't believe you kept it off the wall. Hopefully everything is ok. Rules for next year -- Shawn, 12:19:45 07/31/05 Sun

When we have a rules meeting maybe it is a good idea to seperate it up. We will have two classes so only fsta 1 will vote on rules for the faster class and fsta 2 will vote on rules for the slower class. My opinion we don't need input from people who will not compete in the class, it just makes things more confusing and mixes everything up.It sure would be nice to have a meeting in a couple of weeks so everyone can start working for next year.We can have it at my house ya'll just have to drive to Brenham, that is directly between Houston and Austin.Lets just do it, I talked to alot of people last night that are ready to get their cars done. I was told ya'll were just waiting for a weekend with no racing, If someone wants to vote they will be at the meeting if there is a race going on or not. It takes a long time to get custom parts minimum 4 months and 2 months for me to fabricate everything. I was told by fsta not to order anything because rules probably will change. Call me if you need help with anything Mike 979-451-3251 Thanks

[> Re: Rules for next year -- fsta 2, 13:19:31 07/31/05 Sun

That will not be fair because if they want to move up midway through the season, they should have a say so in what the rules will be .There are a million people building cars and yes, they want a rules meeting but you sure seem to push real hard for one when you want one.And thats no offence to you, but you want to run alcohal with a turbo, some guys want wieght rules ,some guys want different heads, some want coil overs etc, etc, etc, etc,i think everyone who is a member should be able to vote on the rules and then just go from there .The index for number 2 is right on and with a little playing with will be good for fsta .And as far as keeping things factory looking as you stated, what looks factory on these cars? Other than the body i see very little .so adding a intercooler dont matter because what 5.0 mustang like you have has a turbo? Or yates heads Or coil overs or anything else people on here wants .All being said Im for you getting alcohal if you want it. ButI disagree with you on who gets to vote on the rules fsta1 ,fsta2 is still fsta

[Edit]

[> [> Re: Rules for next year -- Shawn, 16:16:36 07/31/05 Sun

Yes I do agree with you about everyone voting so they can step up if they want to. I am pushing for the meeting because I can't even buy parts for the current rules because it may not be the same after the meeting. I made a trip to San Antonio last week to order all my turbo stuff and i'm glad I called Mike when I was there. I was going by the current rules any size single turbo. Mike told me not to get it because the rules may change. That sucks I drove 5 hours for nothing and wasted a vacation day. I will wait it out but I don't see any reason not to have the meeting now whats it going to hurt?

With 22 cars in attendance for the FSTA race it just goes to show you where the TRUE 10.5 Racers are going to. The new split class seems to be a hit and it will only get bigger as the word spreads. We will have the results up a little later. Thanks to all that support the FSTA.

rules -- Shawn, 11:22:35 07/29/05 Fri

I have a pretty good idea on rules. They need to be simple for the fast class and I think the drag radial or breakout class is a great idea for the budget racers. Leave the suspension rules the same or maybe allow coil overs on the rear. That makes it easy to fit a w tire if you want to race some other classes. I think the rules should say conventional heads only on all entries, Cast intakes, any fuel, and any power adder. Remember small tires and stock suspension are the limitations. If someone builds to much power they will just blow the tires off.Small block nitrous cars should get a weight break, big block nitrous cars and all blown and turbo should be 3200. What does everyone else think? We need simple rules to let racers race other places to.With these rules in mind we could also do good in limited street if we wanted to make a trip to Dallas.
Thanks, Shawn

[> Re: rules -- greg(prochargeds10), 17:21:25 07/29/05 Fri

Are you crazy??? You must have a nitrous car. I don't want to weigh 3200. I can't turn it up anymore with what I've got.

I personally don't think it is fair to have 2 stages of gas,(which is 2 power adders), and I can't have a water/air intercooler.

[Edit]

[> [> Come on. -- Billy Stocklin, 21:28:34 07/29/05 Fri

That's crazy- one kit? Then you guys should be limited to 14 pounds of boost because that is one atmosphere and more than that is 2 power adders. It's about the same argument. Both are silly, right?

[Edit]

[> [> [> Re: Come on. -- greg(prochargeds10), 21:51:20 07/29/05 Fri

I could see adding some weight if you have an water/air intercooler. I am pulling in 300deg air and that hurts power.

[Edit]

[> [> [> Re: Come on. -- greg(prochargeds10), 21:54:06 07/29/05 Fri

If you look at it like that, then you should limit the pill size for nitrous. LOL

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> Re: Come on. -- Shawn, 01:17:59 07/30/05 Sat

We need to get blower and turbo cars in to run on alcohol. This is the cheapest and easiest way to cool the air. I am going to try and run a single turbo blown through a carburetor on alohol on my small block ford if the rules will let me. FSTA wants these cars to look like street cars and I don't want to cut mine all up to put in an intercooler. If you run alcohol it helps cool the air, its easy on the motor, and it is only $1.75 per gallon. It makes the same power as being intercooled on gas. I don't have a problem weighing the same as a big block nitrous car.

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> [> Re: Come on. -- RAY, 06:53:08 07/30/05 Sat

What happened to "if you can't run fast enough with the current rules change over to a BBC like I did"? Thought you were fast enough with your BBC and a 800 shot of NOS or at least thats what you posted. You guys seem to come up with so much crap rather than make a needed Sb change and play with some weight and get it back to close side by side runs as in the beginning. For the turbo guys you need to call Dutwiller for the fair HP answers for equality because he has the answers.I would stick to the current suspension rules but see no big deal on coil overs if the FSTA wanted to go that way.You got a good club but it is in need of a tune up.

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Come on. -- Shawn, 07:54:31 07/30/05 Sat

I just didn't have any fun with the nitrous stuff. The motor had plenty of power just boring. I like to do things different. Remember when I put the blown motor in my outlaw 10.5 car? Everyone told me it wouldn't work because noone has done it before. Well I was running 4.80's when king of the hill big tire cars were running 5 teens. Same with the alcohol turbo carburated deal everyone said it won't work because nobody is doing it. I think I can have fun trying to figure it out. Just stick to your basics Ray.

[Edit]

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Come on. -- greg(prochargeds10), 08:08:40 07/30/05 Sat

I have seen it done with alcohol and blowthru, but I think it was a dominator carb. It is hard to get that much fuel thru a carb.

[Edit]

[> Re: rules -- Alex Ekrot, 11:33:42 07/30/05 Sat

I agree.

The FSTA T-shirt states:

'True 10.5" tires, stock suspension and TONS of HORSEPOWER!'

That should be the rules...

Let the tire and suspension be the LIMITING FACTOR - this means any heads, any motor, who cares, you can only hook so much power with a stock suspension and true 10.5" tire. This would eliminate a lot of bickering over canted valve heads, big chiefs, ice water, turbo or blower size, number of kits of NOS, etc...

I've let my car sit most of this season because I'm not allowed to run in the FSTA because my 352 CID SBF has a procharger with an ice water aftercooler.

The next step up is True 10.5" tire and ANY rear suspension (including back-halfs) which is basically what the Cloberthon and limit street classes are allowing - there, stock firewalls, stock front frame rails, etc probably would be a good idea to 'separate' these cars from the full blown tube frame cars...

Bottom line, the less rules you have, the easier it is to check/enforce/police and the more combinations that will fit the rules which will increase the car counts.

Alex

[Edit]

[> [> Re: rules -- 2 cents, 15:22:07 07/30/05 Sat

That all sounds good Alex but the reason that Joe is opening up his rules to allow just about any car that has true 10.5's on it is not to make it fair for the racers. It's about getting more cars which equates to more dollars which there is nothing wrong with that if your a promoter. More cars equals more money you make and thats what promoters do. By you logic you would not mind running cars such as Naiser's SB heads up because there really isn't alot of difference in a old school backhalf and the outlaw 10.5 cars. If there are so many of these cars out there why aren't they coming out and starting an orginazation and setting up races? Kind of like the debate over ladderbar cars. Everyone kept saying there were 50 or more out there that wanted a place to race. Well where were they when Sealy ran the 10.5 program for 3 years. 5-8 cars would show and most of those are now FSTA cars. Not saying some rules don't need some tweaking and they will be addressed at the next meeting but you can not build a class around 1 or 2 cars, you have to go with the majority of whats out there.

We need a rules meeting now or as soon as possible. Lets go ahead and have a meeting but not change anything until 2006. There are alot of cars being built for the class and they are on hold until they see if any changes are going to be made. If you have a meeting at the end of the year people will be out half of next year trying to get their stuff done. I also just sold my BBC and am going smallblock. I have no name, nor do i have a car . I just copied and pasted shawns old message to his new message. Just making sure he dont want to change the rules now that he has a small block, that is all. And yes the computer hauls butt.

All I want to change is fuel. I want to run alcohol through my carburetor. My car is to clean to cut up for an intercooler.

I also want to add weight to my car. 3000 is to light for a turbo car. I want mine to be 3200!

Thanks for you imput Shawn, We are planning on having the rules meeting either in later Aug or early Sept to give everyone a jump on 2006. Also need everyone to sign into the new mailing list so we can send out updates. Link is just above where the messages start.

Rain in Sealy??? -- Austin Crew, 19:05:58 07/29/05 Fri

Radar says there's rain down there right now...9pm. Is there any chance the track might close with wet fields? The forecast says 96 and dry tomorrow but the fields WILL be wet. Let us know!

So do I need to plan on going to the clobber-slob?

I'd rather run at Sealy so I need to know ASAP - HMP has paved pits and won't close as long as it's not raining... the pits at Sealy can't be dried ... hint Mike ... all Sealy needs is $250K of asphalt in the pits :)

?

p.s. don't forget to make sure that Chip doesn't have a slightly larger 'true' 10.5 tire when Kyle Huttle drags his ass down the track...

5.75 class -- Greg W. ATX, 22:38:36 07/25/05 Mon

Say i'm running in the slower class and i run a 5.74 and my opponent runs a 5.73. Are we both out or is he out and i win? I have a feeling that this could very easily happen and i would like to have a rulling on it before the race.
I have only ran faster than 5.75 once in the year and a half i have been running with ya'll, but hey you never know.

I also agree with the guy down the page about having our meeting in September or early October. All of us out of our shop feel this would give us time to make changes if alot of new rules come into play. We would hate to see a bunch of rule changes, but we would still come out, we have no where else to run.
We will show up for said meeting 9 strong.
Thank you for a great class"FSTA" and the hard work you guys and the tracks put into it....We appreciate it very much. THERE IS NO RACE TRACK IN AUSTIN

In the event of a double break-out, the worse (your opponent's 5.73 for example) would lose.

Thank you mike.
Here is another sonario. In time trials i run a 5.70
does that mean i have to run in the fast class? In the 2nd
time trial i run a 5.80. I'm not fast enough to run with the big boys , but i can run in the 5.75 class if i work on it.
I'm not sand bagging. My best is 5.67. I'm sure that i'm not the only one thinking about this. I can hear it now about cars sandbagging. I know you guys understand where i'm comming from.

If possible when the 2nd group runs the track will need to set up the lights like a bracket race is being ran so the correct win light will come on in case of a breakout. They would both be dialed in at a 5.75. Just also make sure it is off of a pro tree LOL.
This would keep the spectators knowing what is going on and possibly stop other problems between the racers.

The .040 break-out rule was just my suggestion to enact if the index class becomes a permanant venue. It would only apply in actual competition runs during the eliminations
