lutzracing.com turbo blowthru -- Shawn, 23:41:52 02/25/07 Sun

See lutzracing.com. Bill went 6.99@203 and 4.58@165 in heavy street. This is 3500 lbs with 2 88mm turbo's and a single blowthru alcohol carb. This carb is the same junk I had that would never work. LOL!

It had Dudley tuned EFI with Methanol when it went the 6.99 in Heavy Street. I was there and looked at it.

You must have been looking at the wrong car. Bill hates efi and would never use it. He is sponsored by and represents c&s carbs.

I don't think anyone doubted the carb, it was more "your" ability to make it work.
I too heard that Lutz had a Dudley EFI on the car at that race.

GIve me a breeak Shawn. If you were half as good as you think you were you would still be racing. Now you just thump your chest about things you could have done.
Go climb back in your airplane and fly around the race tracks to see where the racers hang out.
This website is for racers not keyboard warriors.

Sorry Shaun but the car is now fuel injected. It did run good with the carb, but is faster fuel injeted.
This is a new design fuel injection system and Bill's car is a test car for this new technology.
Go to www yellowbullet.com in the forums and read all about it. Bill posts over there a lot.

Thats some funny stuff there Shawn. Maybe on paper you were running those times years ago, but we all remember your car and it's once in a blue moon make it down the track record. Thats the reason you got out of the outlaw 10.5 and came over to the FSTA. Then once you got your butt handed to you here and found out you didn't have the resources to run the blow through setup you bailed once again.

This is why they did not want your combo in FSTA. This is an OUTLAW powerplant for Outlaw car's. Not a stock suspension class combination.
Personally I don't think you could have tuned that much power with a carb to work anyway on such a small tire.

Rules meeting for 07 season? -- Rob, 11:12:56 10/18/06 Wed

1. How about allowing coil overs? This will allow us more tire clearance so we can get the tires underneath the car for a cleaner look. Most cars already run Coil over shocks with-out the springs anyway. There is no advantage to allowing the spring too. The double adjustable shock is the advantage not the spring.

2. How about allowing Small Blocks with Inline heads to use two 4150 carbs on a tunnel ram cast or sheetmetal. Inline Small Block cylinder head cars need help. Either that or possible allow a third nitrous system on Small Blocks only.

3. How about requiring a different tire size like a 28.0/10.5 max or something similar like that to seperate the FSTA stock suspension cars more from the Limited Street/True 10.5 cars. There needs to be a little more seperation besides the stock suspension. I think this would help the specators, make more of them want to watch the class and increase the car count too.

4. Try to run this class at events/racetracks that have Outlaw 10.5, True 10.5, Index classes ect on the same date. (join forces) Shreveport, LA would be a good place they are welocming Heads up racing at that track and also at Pine Valley raceway in Diboll.

Just some thoughts for next year. You guys vote and decide....

The Small Blocks need about .2 tenths from what I seen. Mike Croix/Matt Cook team went a 5.04 @ 146 at Red River Raceway Saturday Night.

[ Edit | View ]

[> [> Re: Rules meeting for 07 season? -- SB car, 18:59:38 10/23/06 Mon

They don’t need anything when Mike C, Kyle, Chip, Chaney's old car and Mike Kurtz don’t show-up or leave the race early. Seven cars, 5 SB’s and 2 BB’s, Unc went out first round against John F and Kyle left early!

What you really should be concerned with is the fact that a 3500+ pound 57 Chevy with a BB and “1” kit can run low 5.20’s and FSTA allows that same combination (less ladder bars) run at 3200 and “2” kits!

I will say this, my hats off to Mike and Matt for stepping up to True 10.5/Limited Street. Congratulations on your runner-up.

Yes, the open class will have some changes as well as the 2nd class. Would like to see the Open class go more towards limited street and the 2nd class get back to heads up but with limitations to get it back even and more budget minded.

[> [> [> [> [> [> [> What are you guys leaning towards doing? -- Rob, 14:16:15 11/01/06 Wed

I would not let Ladder bars in and make it a Limited Street Class. Remember this is Factory Street, not Limited Street (LSTA),. I recommend making the open class more open, allow Big Chiefs Heads (Any cylinder head), still single 4bbl and a 632 CI limit, Allow 94mm Turbo with the good intercoolers ect. I do like the idea of a Heads up second class with more limits on Tire, power adders, and engine combo's. What are you guys leaning towards doing?

Single stage Fogger is not really a limit. I can get 700+ HP from one and all you need is a Progressive Controller to control it. Click the link below: My customer set the NMCA Extreme Street record with one of my single stage foggers at 3540lbs on stock suspension with only 525 ci (Stock Block)and conventional cylinder heads.

Temple Race -- Randy, 10:27:27 10/01/06 Sun

It's another one in the books.

I will have the ladder posted later today.

Congrats to John Flores and team on their win and to Griswald for his runner up last night.

My view from the cheap seats.

First round (from the best of my knowledge)

Al Collard gets a bye into the second round.

John Flores and Chad backer square off. Flores takes the right lane, it looks to be a bit tighter. Chad had some wheel spin on the hit and John motors on for a win.

Here is the match up for bragging rights... Ralph agiast the King. The King is known for his hole shot driving abilities and he looked ready to strap one on ol Ralphy...
Lights come down and it looked like ralph had the advantage. Ralph gets loose around 500' and has to lift. The score board shines The king 5.77 and Ralph 5.79. Ralph gets the old man on a hole shot. I wonder how long Ralph will hold that over his head? I think the lights were like .407 to .432.

Next pair up is Jason Rearick and Griswald. This was a close one, Griswald takes the win. I think Jason had some issues and slowed up on this pass.

Last pair up is Brad Dinkel and Darryl Holt in the Wild Thing. Brad takes the right lane and and pulls out a win over the Wild Thing.

Next Round

First pair out puts Flores against Collard. Al gives the win to Flores at the hit when he goes red.

Next pair in the lanes were Brad and Griswald. This one had the makings of a great race. They both stage up and are on the converters for what seemed like an hour or two till the tree finally came down. I think Brad got tired of waiting for the yellow and let off the brake giving Griswald the win. Brad's light was pretty red.

Ralph gets a bye for this round and just breaks the beams.

Next Round

Flores and Howard get paired for this round. Flores takes the right lane and we have a race on this one, Howard is out first and is on one helluva pass when he lost traction around 500' and crossed the center line giving Flores the win. Ralph, if you want to chase cones, you should really take up SCCA racing.

Griswald gets a bye to the finals..

Finals.

Flores has the right lane, Griswald really wanted the right lane, but Flores took it at the start.
Lights come down and they are off, Flores goes out like a rocket and Griswald leaves wheels way up and when 2 comes on the back tires want no more, the car made a hard move right and he had to pedal and drive it. I think Griswald was going to finish Nascar style and draft off of John going down track. It was a great save by Clark, he had his hands full with the sudden lane change.

Congrats to all, no one last paint and we all walked away.

Thanks to Al, Dana, Darryl and Mike for making the pull from Houston. Oh and Al, when are you gonna make her an honest woman. ;)

HMP Sept 23rd Race -- Greg (FSTA), 09:03:18 09/17/06 Sun

The FSTA will not be attending the Max-Impact race. This desicion was made by the FSTA due to the already scheduled race the following weekend @ Temple. Most of the racers can not make 2 weekends in a row and since this was a rescheduled race and the Temple race has been on the schedule for months we decided this would be for best. We appreciate HMP's understanding with this decision and look forward to being back @ HMP in the near future. Stay tuned for further details.

No the FSTA is not dieing. We are not getting the 22 + cars like before but we are still getting more cars than any other "single" class (12-16). Hot weather and multiple races on the same day as well as cars being broke are also factors.

It is always legal, just faster than everyone else. I'm done. I've been taking flying lessons so the plan is to sell the car and buy a plane. No crybabbies in the sky!LOL I think the chassis is sold, just need to sell the motor and the trailer.

You complained all last season trying to get your combination legal, then they made it legal and you never showed up and did anything. Nobody is scared of that car..lol Do you really think cars in this class that have already been 5.0's are skeered of your BS? Now you're buying a plane?..2 months ago you were selling it to run Outlaw Pro Mod? Get it running and come race it in this class and if your such the guru it would sell easily. You have obviously decided you cannot cut the mustard so you have opted to just lick the jar.

You quit because you wanted to do something different. Tell it like it is. And on a side note, I think you would have got you a$$ handed to you if you would have ever brought it out. If you thought you could have dominated the class you would have come out and done so. Cars are worth a lot more once proven, not just talked about how bad they should be.

Your getting a little carried away here. Traction Control in the sense that we are talking about is any device that monitors wheel speed, driveshaft speed, RPM, etc and makes changes during the run with data aquired during that run. NOS programers, timers and boost controllers are set prior to the run. When used by themselves they are fine, not in conjunction with a TCD.

REVOLUTION RACE CANCELLED

(Just got off the phone with Gerald the GM of HRP and due to the forcast of weather tomorrow the Owners (The Angels) decided to cancel the race.
The high tomorrow is supposed to be in the mid to high 40's, a 50% chance of rain and the wind at 16mph gusting to 31mph.
As much as I hate to cancel this race it is probably the best choice if you are wanting success. At this time the race has not been rescheduled so I will keep everyone posted!! The way I look at it, To Darn Cold for 10.5 cars and to dangerous!! Especially at the begining of a race season!! Don't want a chance for drivers hurt or their awesome cars!! Scott out!!

I ran the 5.71 in the top 4 against my arch rival, JASON.
I ran a 6.00 to Chads 5.91. Now i cut a better light and out 60ft him but he went around the sand bagger. Way to go chad...... That 'll teach them. I guess you guys know it's all about having fun for me. I'm glad to have a place to race even if its 3 1/2 fricking hours away. I think FSTA is only going to get better.

HEADS AND WELDED ON TABS RULES ETC -- DAVIS, 18:03:42 10/28/05 Fri

I SHOULD KEEP MY MOUTH SHUT AND BE HAPPY THAT SO FAR YATES IS VOTED AT 89 PERCENT, BUT I JUST CANT..........PEOPLE KEEPS TALKING FACTORY THIS, FACTORY THAT, ETC ETC.......LETS BE REAL........ IF YOU CANT WELD TABS ON THE REAR END ,YOU CANT WELD THEM TO THE FRAME RAIL FOR MOTOR AND MID PLATES.......IF THE SO CALLED CONVENTIONAL NEEDS TO BE USED, WHAT CAR CAME WITH A CONVENTIONAL NITROUS , PAIR OF SLICKS ,WHEELIE BARS, ROLL CAGE ,PARACHUTE ,CONVENTIONAL TALL DECK (LIKE ALL THE CARS CAME STOCK LOL)CONVENTIONAL OPENED EXAUST, CONVENTIONAL WINDOWS, ETC ETC THIS CAN GO ON FOR MILES .............. THE POINT IS WE GOT 10.5 TIRES AND EVERY PART OF THE REAR SUSPENTION HAS TO BOLT ONTO THE FACTORY LOCATION,,,,, BUT WE ADD STUFF TO HELP US ,THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS ................ITS JUST POINT OF THE MATTER FOR WHAT WE ALL DO AND HAVE IN THE CARS...........IF YOU HAVENT BEEN TO THE MEMBER BOARD, YOU DONT KNOW THE POSTS IM TALKING ABOUT ,SO NO RESPONCE IS NEEDED, UNLESS YOU HAVE READ EVERY POST THERE .......IF YOU HAVE PLEASE POST WHAT YOU FEEL, BUT LETS BE FAIR HERE ON THE BIG PICTURE .........WE GOT 10.5 TIRES FACTORY SUSPENTION WITH ADD ONS, FULL INTERIOR ,HECK I STILL HAVE POWER WINDOWS LOL ..........WE GOT 2 CLASSES LETS KEEP EM GOING ....AND A 302 BLOCK WITH YATES AINT HURTING NO ONE IN THE UPPER CLASS( WITH 680 PLUS C.I.ALL READY ALLOWED) AND THE OTHER CLASS CAN VOTE A WHOLE NEW SET OF RULES FOR WHAT THEY WANT ...........THE MORE POSTS I READ I AM STARTING TO AGREE WITH SHAWN ON THIS DEAL (TO A EXTINT), ONE CLASS LET EM ALL OUT ON FACTORY SUSPENTION (BUT ADD WEIGHT TO BIG BLOCKS WITH UNCONVENTIONL HEADS JUST LIKE SMALL BLOCKS), AND ONE CLASS WITH A BREAK OUT INDEX FOR PEOPLE THAT HAVE BAD ASS CARS BUT CANT COMPETE FOR FIRST PLACE WITH THE FASTEST CARS IN THE CLASS ............THANKS FOR YOUR TIME READING JUST MY POINT OF VEIW............

    [ Edit | View ]

    Replies:

[> Re: HEADS AND WELDED ON TABS RULES ETC -- DAVIS, 16:11:00 10/29/05 Sat

And since i received a few emails on this post ,,,,,,,to clarify I meant if the only way yates is voted in is to also let big blocks run big cheifs ,then they should have to add weight just like small blocks ........not saying i want to totaly change up the rulls and allow that like it came across but if thats what people wants then im ok by that is what was meant ....to be honest i dont think i should have to take a 100 or 200 pd hit because of the yates ,it is a small engine spraying only one kit but i just want a place to play with it so im willing to work with this if the majority will vote to find a way to let me in ........

    [ Edit | View ]

[> Re: HEADS AND WELDED ON TABS RULES ETC -- Glenn, 13:26:39 11/02/05 Wed

As I'm trying to get ready for this class this is what I think: In terms of suspension, any type of traction device which bolts onto the welded tab on the rearend should be considered stock. Utilizing U-bolts to secure the bar/arm is a stock modification regardless of what type of set-up it is. Frame connectors are welded in so then front mounting points for bars/arms should be allowed as well so long as it bolts to it respectively.

For instance, if fully bolt-in kits containing lift bars and coil springs to replace leaf springs is available it should be still be considered stock. These do exist. Stock is defined as still being essentially bolted in as far as suspension goes.

In terms of engine mods, this has been going on for a while now. Allowing small blocks to run symmetrical port heads (chevy) and Yates (Ford) sbould not really constitute a weight penalty. Why? Because they're still small blocks just with better heads now. Big block heads flow way more than small blocks and there's still the cubic inch factor. A 600 plus in rat with conventional-style heads still has a huge advantage over a Yates or symmetrical headed 400 inch small block. That's for real, guys. Just My .2 Cents -- Glenn, 15:21:30 10/28/05 Fri

Guys, I have been checking this class out and it has a lot of potential. The crowd turn out is not as good as it could be because people want to see the cars go faster. Granted, BAD9ER is probably the cream of the crop but, that's only one car in the 5-teens or so. I believe the engine rules need to be loosened up a bit to allow quicker times and it can all still be done on stock suspensions. If people see stock suspended cars running what TTT5 cars run on ladder bars etc. I really see it taking off. It's all about evolving the classes. Look at the Drag Radial classes in NSCA where Smooky Hall packs 3,400 lbs. on stock suspension and radials to the tune of 7.80s-7.90s! Sure, he's not running conventional heads but, with one carb. and two systems pressurizing 565 c.i., it's pretty impreesive to me! This is what fans want. Cars that look like everyday drivers and run high fours to low, low fives in the 1/8. I'd like to see Kyle's car run 4.90's on a stock suspension right next to Justin's ladder bar car. You should seriously think about some engine flexibility. Thanks for allowing me to post. Good Luck.

I have thought to make this class grow, not tear it down. I know Justin and Wolf can't run our class my thought was to open it up some so we can go after them. Everyone except for procharged s10 take shit the wrong way on here. It's like trying to talk to 10 ladys that are on the rag. I don't want this an open motor class to fit my needs I got an old 10year old wore out smallblock. I would like to see everyone go faster if you can't hang then run the limited class. What I have been trying to say is that everyone I talk to says the spectators want more or they will not come watch. If you go watch a race do you want to see something with alot of limits or balls to the walls all out drag racing? I am not making this shit up and I know we can't race with 15 people in the stands unless we race for blue ribbons instead of money.

    Rules -- Shawn, 05:01:18 10/20/05 Thu

I saw some discussion on rules on centexhotrods. Why dont we open it up and make really simple rules? Since there is a 5.75 index class for the guys that are on that level lets go all out on the fast class. Stock suspension, conventional heads and any power adder. We could even open up the head issue and run any head if we want. Remember the stock suspension is the limiting factor. It does not matter how much power you have you have to get it down the track. If someone builds a 3000hp blown motor they would not be a threat they would just smoke the tires.I think everyone wants rules to keep David Wolfe out, hell let him race thats what the fans come to see the out of control cars that are on the edge. everyone else just has to get their shit together so we can send him back to Dallas with empty pockets. The flyers say FSTA fastest true 10.5 in texas with bumper dragging power. I haven't seen anyone drag the bumper and TTT5 limited street is the fastest true 10.5 in texas. Lets open it up guys we don't need limits on nitrous kits, fuel, blowers are turbo. Run what you brung!
BB nitrous and turbo 3200 lbs
Smallblock nitrous 2900 or maybe lighter?
    no wheelie bars
Everyone needs to post their thoughts on here so we can all think about it before the meeting. This is the place to discuss FSTA not centex.

    [> [> Re: Rules -- Greg "FSTA", 10:22:07 10/20/05 Thu

That’s what I'm talking about... The Open class should be just that...OPEN and our Limited class for the rest. If we get enough interest from the 6.20 and slower guys we could bring that on as well. The main thing is not to divide so much that the FSTA suffers as a whole. There is no real way to divide the class by combos because we are so spread out with things that work. It takes support from all of the racers that want a place to fit in. We are going to be electing some committee members at this meeting so that when rules need to be tweaked/modified it will be for the betterment of the group as a whole, so start thinking about who you would like to see representing you and your group. 2006 is going to be a GREAT year for the FSTA and we look forward to more people getting involved and stepping up. Just 2 years ago 5.80’s was flying and everyone was stunned at what could be done on stock suspension and true 10.5’s, Look at us now, 5 teens and 20’s. Unreal and getting faster everyday…. Post your thoughts and if you have a question and don’t want to post it just send us an email…. Se you at the meeting……

Greg, Why is it everytime I post something on here you try to bash me? I am just trying to give some input on here about what I think about the class not be an asshole. I am a paid member so I can voice my opinion like everyone else right? You told me to just go race limited street, I plan on going to a few of their races just like everyone else. I am just trying to say what I think will get a big carcount and bring in the fans and let the class grow. I have been racing heads up 10.5 classes for about 13 years now and have seen one after another die. I think what kills classes is to many rules where someone would have to build a car just for that class only. A few simple rules make it alot easier for someone to throw a car together and come race. Us guys have always tried to team up and help each other. If someone has a car, his buddy has a motor and the guy down the street has a transmission you can scrap that shit together in a weekend and go race and not study the rules for a month and change every part you have. Everyone I have talked to likes the unlimited 10.5 and stock suspension, everytime I have brought it up you disagree with me and say it will cause problems. If we want to do this all we have to do is make one vote and if over half agree we are done so we don't have to discuss every little motor combo rule for hours. I really like the drag radial class idea instead of the index that would be cool. I really have not seen alot of street tire classes around here but I know they are big everywhere else.

Telling you to go race L/S is not bashing. You coming on here and complaining (jumping on people that you disagree with) ALL the time about the rules that you don’t like because they don’t fit your future combination is bashing.

The comment was just a suggestion. In other words, build what you want, but then race where it is legal and stop trying to change rules to fit your one-of-a-kind combination.

It just may be time for you to step up to L/S.

I think with the Limited class in place the Open Class should be more open. I don't see the cars getting much faster than 5.0 - 5 teens due to the tire and suspension. I do think just like the Nitrous cars are limited to 2 kits so should be the size of the turbo's but allow the water and put them @ BB wieght. What do you guys think?

Ok, say the W/A intercoolers get voted in to the mix. What turbo size? I was on Turbonectics site and they have have a listing of several. I have heard a few numbers thrown around on sizes. Here is what they say..

80mm inducer; 3/8" quill; flow capacity capable of supporting up to 1,200 hp!

88mm inducer; 3/8" quill; flow capacity capable of supporting up to 1,500 hp!

91mm inducer; 7/16" quill; capable of supporting up to 1,600 hp!

    Suggestions?

I would like to talk to a resource that is unbiased to FSTA or any power adder before I form my opinion. I just don't know enough about the forced induction power adders to make a call on this one.

I truly think if you make it wide open in the power plant aspect, it will kill the class.

    YMMV

No but really guys, this is whats it is going to take to make this work, so research and real world data. Not some 1 perfect pass in 30 degree temps but consistant data. Some rules will need tweaking and thats where the committe wil come in. Keeping the rule in tact but modifying to keep the playing field level. [> [> [> [> [> [> [> Re: Rules -- Shawn, 14:50:05 10/20/05 Thu

Here is my opinion again.I know everyone is scared of turbos, but there are lots of factors that go with turbo size. Most people size their turbo to their cubic inch if you put a 106 on a 302 it would not ever do a burnout because it is so hard to spool up. If you put an 80 mm on a large cubic inch motor you are pissing in the wind because it won't make boost. How is someone that knows nothing about turbos going to learn everything in a week to inform us? Lawrence Conelly has been running turbo's for 15 years and does not know everything about them. Keep it open Kyle and Chip want to run their 3 kits let them, if someone wants a blower let them get a 1471 and we should be able to run any single turbo just maybe not 2. What is the difference between turbo and nitrous? I have a nitrous express book in front of me that says 1 fogger will produce an extra 1000 hp. You nitrous guys run 2 of them so what is the difference in 2000hp worth of nitrous or a turbo that can support 2400hp? If your big block will make 1000 on motor and you spray 2 kits that is 3000HP. The largest 106mm turbo will support 2400 that don't mean it will make that much, the same thing with nitrous. If you limit turbo or blower size we need to limit nitrous to 2 cheater plates. Now fair is fair right? I bet you nitrous guys don't want to hear that do you? Well I am going to run a turbo so I don't want to hear it either. I went by the current rules and bought any size single turbo a 106. You never had even 1 turbo car so why would you change the rules before one comes in? Now don't it look like an open motor and power adder rule makes more sense? We could sit in the meeting for weeks arguing about rules and when it is all said and done you are going to loose cars. If its open anyone can race and if you can't compete step down to the slower class.I do not think we need anyone in the meeting talking about forced induction unless it is Jim Oddy or Kenny Duttweiler, everyone that knows nothing about it will get misled, especially if they are against forced induction anyway.

You are correct, under the current 2005 rules below any size was allowed provided it was A/A and on race Fuel. One of the things I keep hearing is make it unlimited motor combos so we can race anywhere. Under the current FSTA rules you can go anywhere, but there are many places you can't go with Tall Decks, Big Chief heads, 3 Kits, 2 Carbs, A/W IC, etc. A current FSTA car can run in The Clash, TTT5, Prescott, Clobberthon TT5, and many others so it is not a case of building a car to fit just one place, it is the case of exsisting cars that were built years ago to fit certain places having to step back and regroup while allowing cars being built, able to pick where they want to race. Just my opinion though...

    * Any single turbo or centrifugal supercharger
    * Air to air intercooler/aftercooler only. No other aux. cooling devices allowed to cool air charge
    * Alcohol allowed only on carbureted, non turbo/blown entries

Those rules look great Greg. Just chance the alcohol carburetor part and I'll be ok. LOL
Yes we can race anywhere with the current rules but just not be competitive. Thats what I'm trying to get at.How about the conventional heads and any power adder? Thats the rules I like I just brought up any heads for those ford guys that want yates heads. Just consider me a guine pig on the alcohol carburated turbo thing. It was something different and really cheap to get into that should make good power, but not proven yet. Anyone in this class can go turbo if they want so think for others not just me. I thought turbos were really expensive like everyone else before I bought one.A new turbo and wastegate is cheaper than most people have in their nitrous, then you just need to build headers. You can ever run a junkie motor with a turbo and not blow it up. You don't need all the fancy parts like you do with blower or nitrous. Believe me I bought a 10 year old small block ford and freshened it up for this turbo change. Low dollar

Your logic is flawed all the way around. If you could get that kind of true power out of 2 kits, you would not have swapped.

I think if you want an unlimited deal, jump back over to Outlaw 10.5 since you know everything about nitrous, turbos and blowers.. All those guys should be easy pickens for guy with your knowledge..

Read my post a little closer Randy. It basically says just because foggers are capable of making 2000hp don't mean they really do. Just because a turbo says it is capable of making 2400hp don't mean it really makes that much, its the same deal. I don't claim to know everything but I have ran nitrous for 10 years, blown alcohol for 3 years and I don't know shit about turbos but I'm learning more every day.I don't care what everyone votes, majority rules right? We just want to try and vote in some rules without being shut out. Try to vote in unlimited first, if nobody wants it then vote on something else right. I just don't understand what the second class is for if you want all kinds of limits on the first one? Hell just limit the first one to 5.50 and we will all index race thats how fast ya'll want it to be. You and Greg seem to have the rules made up before we go to a meeting so why even vote? All I am trying to get is a alcohol carb. with a turbo for cost and simplicity not to make 500 more hp. Everything else on my car fits the rules. My car is more street apearing than anything else in the class, I have conventional heads. I went with alcohol so I dont have to take my front seat out to run an intercooler or cut the front of my car all up to run an air to air. I guess noone did their homework before making the current rules. Brad Brand went 7.20 at 207mph with a single turbo on gas with an air to air intercooler at 3000lbs with regular o'l trickflow heads, but that was not on a true 10.5 with stock suspension.SEE I GOT YOU PEOPLE TALKING NOW! WHY WAS THIS BOARD SO DEAD UNTIL I SAID SOMETHING? MAYBE I SHOULD POST SOMETHING ON HERE EVERY DAY AND KEEP YA'LL ON YOUR FEET.

shawn has a very good point about the hp levels of nirous+turbo, and blowers.

they say my blower is good to 1800hp, wish I could get all that!!!

"Your logic is flawed all the way around. If you could get that kind of true power out of 2 kits, you would not have swapped"

same goes for the force induction stuff..

Look at turbo Rob he has a single 106 fuel injected with a water intercooler and a 40,000 Bennet motor. He is in the 5 teen to 5.20 range.

all being said,it's not all about the tires and susp.anymore.it's about the ability to tune the msd digital boxs and boost controlers!do away with them and it puts it back to the original concept of the class, throwing all you got at a 10.9 tire and factory style susp.and HOPE IT HOLDS!!!

Ok, I can see this is really going nowhere fast..

I am not trying to dictate rules, I am trying to get myself educated on other technology so that I can make my own conclusions.

I found some info on turbos and posted it to here. I know people that run all types of power adders and am aware of what it takes to make power from either.

In my humble opinion, if you blow all of the rules out, this class will die. If you want an unlimited deal, go run Limited Street or something that has no rules on suspension or power adders.
As they say about opinions, they are like azzholes, everybody has one and some stink worse than others..

    rules -- davis, 16:56:54 10/20/05 Thu

No wheelie bars is dumb some cant afford to brake stuff ........And Shawn I said it before you push hard for stuff to suit your needs ,and bashed us for wanting to run the 369 Yates motor with one kit ........Ya guys I know I talked up all the shit in the world but what can I say???????Im here again .......................must be a reason ...........I want to run my turd with yall .....I don't think a small ci motor should have to take weight with my heads but if it has to, to get voted in at least I can play ,but don't seem right ...I know money talks bs walks but my car is about as cheap as you can get for what it is most all parts was bought used and work good.......On the turbo stuff I don't have much knowledge on ,,,,,,but I know the turbo cars cost a lot to build and seem to kick all asses( if you can afford to build one) ..........Shawn I don't even know you and not bashing you but you are whining just as bad as I was 4 months ago so I hope you see the reason now .................But I do agree with you on anything goes on factory suspension lets just let the tires decide the winner for what they got and how they can learn to tune the ass end to hold the power and the drivers skills..........
