we should make a new rule about buying horses. some people are buying 5 horses at one time and leaving none for others like me who only buy one horse, or possibly 2 at once. I think we should have a rule that you can only buy 3 sale horses per week and bid on 3 horses per week. this way the most horses one person can get in a week is 6 horses, making updating easier for Helen, Susan and Dana and making people that buy every "pretty one" really think about what horses they really want to own and not being greedy about horses. some memebers have 20 or more horses and i see no need to have 20 different breeds of horses at one farm.

Think about this... Would you rather have 5 really good horses that do everything you want, or have 20 halfway decent horses that don't really do exactly what you want? I know i'd rather have 5 excellent horses than 20 decent ones. I own 12 horses TOTAL. I ride 3 of the 12, the rest belong to my kids or are used for lessons. Silver shows 4th level dressage and schools grand prix dressage, Shining jumps 5+' easily and Trent has the potential to be a grand prix level dressage horse or a star jumper, or a star eventer. My kids all have 1-3 horses that suit their desires perfectly. Mikki owns Hot Chocolate who is a 5 year old that does dressage and jumps and is ready to begin event training and has the potential for driving. Hannah owns two horses right now, Mizz Perfection and Dream Come True. Dream is her training project and Missy is a made all around horse. Jessie owns 2 horses, Justins Bay Roses who is leased to Katie and Satina, a warmblood who does all english and is beginning to learn a little western. Maggie owns Desert Gold, a akhal-teke stallion who does english and western, events, jumps and does dressage, Alison owns Maverick, a former lesson pony who rides english, western and saddleseat and Michelle owns Who Dunnit, a connemara gelding that rides english and western and does everything. I also own Sacred Amulet who is used for beginners lessons and one other horse that is mostly used as a broodmare. none of my horses are just sitting around being wasted because i have too many horses to care for.

I find it unfair that some people go through and buy every horse they see. i promise you, you DO NOT need every horse Helen, Susan and Dana create to sell and every horse every member puts up for sale. you are going to be paying a ton of money in feed and vet bills each month for all the un-used horses and i doubt you want that.

Post telling me if you agree or disagree
