The demon had left him be, at least for now. After he was sure he had himself under control his senses kicked in. And he supprised himself.

He leaned into Lily, wrapping his arms around her in an firm embrace. Tears ran down his face, but not too many. "Lily," he said softly into her ear, "I don't know what's happening to me." He hestitated, then added, "I'm afraid." The last part scared him, the fact that he admitted his fear to his friend. He became aware of the watching peasants and let go of her. "What are ya lookin' at?" he growled at them and they turned away. That made him feel better. More like Briar. But then he was back to the facts. He sat on fountain. "What am I going to do?" he asked both Mia and Lily.
