The best book I ever read on this important part of printing union history was a book: "THE END OF THE STREET"
- I think the author was Linda Irwin, published in 1988 or
1989. It covers the dispute between the Fleet Street print
unions and Murdoch and the riots outside the Wapping "scab"
plant. My sympathies were with the print workers - but after reading this excellent book I had to admit that the unions could have handled the dispute much better - I know they were deceived by Murdoch but I think they played into his hands!
