Great sight--Talk about about serendipity! I started hand-setting type in the early '50s. I progressed to the Ludlow, Linotype and Intertype (preferred linecaster) through the '60s and '70s. Graduated to phototypesetting on the Compugraphic in the '80s. Discovered Macintosh in the '90s. Here in the new century, at age 65, I'm the night manager of a completely digital high-speed copy and print shop in North Carolina, USA. I've been all over, done it all, had some good times, some bad. Worked the OLD newspapers and the NEW commercial shops. It's been a hell of a ride, but I wouldn't trade it for anyrthing. And, yes, if I could do it all over again, I would--in a blink.
