Hello all. I attempted the "bend the spring" repair on my dad's Pianocorder when I visited in June. I couldn't get a tab of wire down far enough to contact the metal plate. If I am remembering correctly, it just reached a hole in the plastic, which split.

I had to leave it with the cover off and a pencil holding the head in contact with the cassette adapter connected to a CD player. I burned several CDs from MIDI with Mark Fontana's software. The piano hadn't played for a few years, so dad was happy with this level of functionality.

Could someone post additional details on the "bend the spring" technique?
